Getting good at starting over…….
A friend who happens to be a documentary photographer was in Downtown Long Beach when he spotted numbers of people cosplaying as their favorite characters. Apparently it was “Animé Los Angeles 19” at Long Beach Convention Center.
I happened to be in the area also and he shared me a few photos he took on that day.
Pretty sure Star Wars characters are not technically Anime characters.
Having said that, their costume are pretty good.

Surviving the first week of 2023 from the rain, implosion at US House of Representatives, attacks on Ukraine, persecution of protesters in Iran, etc.
…and it is Saturday night. I had a late night session on Friday and continued on till morning. I spent most of the day in bed, actually sleeping.
I thought I could relax a bit today. Tomorrow I will be helping out a few people with their technology issues.

Writing the draft of this post early in the morning since the thoughts linger still.
Today marks seven hundreds and thirty days have passed since the attack on the United States Capitol.
Ignore all the euphemisms about what happened on January 6, 2021. Plain and simple, it was an attack on the United States Capitol.
Wait a minute, I’m repeating myself.
It’s an attack on the United States Capitol!
Dark days are coming ahead for the United States, still.
Today was one of those days, I didn’t feel like getting out of bed. Sure finally we saw the sun shined bright, and thought the rain had finally stopped. Well it rained a little bit in the afternoon through the evening.
I told myself to get out of this New Year’s funk. Friends are currently far away, all over the Earth. One friend endured drone strikes and rocket attacks on daily basis; and loss of electricity.
What can the 118th United States Congress do in three day?
Well, apparently nothing yet. Since the Republican majority so far have failed to choose the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Certainly it has been unlike nothing I had ever witnessed in my lifetime. I did learn from US history, the last time US House of Representatives did not choose Speaker on the first ballot was in 1923. That’s one hundred years ago.
Regardless of who the Speaker is going to be, it will be a tumultuous two years ahead in the US politic.
We cannot predict the future. We can only make educated guesses.
It’s another rainy day and it should stop tomorrow. But there are more rain coming next week.
By the way, if you’re using wireless keyboard and/or mouse, first check the battery whenever you’re having issues with them.
It’s raining again today as it had been since New Year’s Eve. As a matter of fact it would be raining again for the next two days.
A lot of things were in motion today, in continuation of many events in the world. In the United States, for the first time in 100 years, there is no functioning House of Representatives.
As opposed to that, we have a speaker in this house.
It’s the second day of 2023 and it has been raining all day in Southern California. As a matter of fact, it had been raining since New Year’s Eve.
Generally, it had been an uneventful for most of the day. Even though it is officially a day off, I spent a few hours at the office cleaning up and sorting out recyclables off my desk. I used a heat gun to remove shipping labels off packages, and setting aside boxes that can be reused.
Then came along Monday Night Football news that took over news cycle in the United States. Damar Hamlin, Buffalo Bills safety collapsed on field right after tackling Cincinnati Bengals player.
Anything else happening in the world?
What about the ongoing civil unrest in Iran?
It’s a day of calm in Lviv, Ukraine after the attacks on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
Two down, three hundreds sixty-three days to go.
